Solubility: soluble in water, ethanol, slightly soluble in ether, soluble in water emits a lot of heat, soluble in alcohol and glycerol. Melting point 360.4 C. Its chemical properties are similar to sodium hydroxide (caustic soda). The aqueous solution is colorless and alkaline, which can destroy cell tissue.

Uses: Chemical basic raw materials. Inorganic salt industry is used to produce potassium permanganate/potassium carbonate and potassium perferrite. Pharmaceutical industry is used to produce potassium borohydride/printing and dyeing industry to produce vat dyes and to use as bleaching agent/mercerizing agent. Chemicals industry is used for special refrigeration frost/snow cream and hair paste. It is also the main raw material of special potassium fertilizer/man-made fiber/polyester fiber. It can also be used for leather dehydration. Lipids/photo-engraving film development accelerators/neutralizers/dehydrants, etc.

Industrial production of potassium hydroxide is an aqueous solution of electrolytic potassium chloride. Because potassium hydroxide is more difficult to dehydrate than sodium hydroxide, the purity of commercial products can only reach 85%-86%. Purification can be carried out in the same way as the purification of sodium hydroxide.

After refining, potassium chloride is preheated and continuously injected into the electrolytic cell. The electrolyte is concentrated and decolorized.

With industrial potassium hydroxide as anode chamber material and pure water as cathode chamber material, K + ion enters the cathode chamber through selective anode membrane and forms reagent potassium hydroxide through OH - ion under DC field. Solid potassium hydroxide is obtained by concentration and drying. The gas products O 2 and H 2 are discharged from the catheter respectively.

Calcium hydroxide is produced by heating calcium carbonate at high temperature. Calcium hydroxide reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide. Calcium hydroxide reacts with plant ash to form potassium hydroxide.
